STVM Shuts Down Dover; Will Play Hoban at InfoCision in Regional Semi-Finals
On Saturday, November 5, STVM traveled to #6 seed Dover to open post-season play. The Irish got out to a fast start and never looked back, winning 42-7. All three phases of the Irish game were clicking on all cylinders. The defense held a potent spread offense, while the offense controlled the clock and racked up over 500 yards of offense.
The Fighting Irish move on to play Hoban in the Division III, Region 9 semi-finals. This will be the second straight year these two teams meet in the playoffs...this after never having faced each other in the post-season until 2015. Hoban is coming off of a dominating 37-0 win over Warren Howland. Hoban is 10-1 - their lone loss coming to St. Edward in Week 2 of the regular season.
The game will be held at the University of Akron's InfoCision Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 on Saturday, November 12.

STVM Defeats Ursuline in Regular Season Finale; Will Travel to Dover in Region 9 Quarterfinal Game
On Friday, October 28, the Irish took their second trip of the year to Stambaugh Stadium - this time to face the Irish of Ursuline High School. Both teams were coming off of tough losses, but the Akron Irish proved to be too much for the Youngstown Irish. STVM jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead after two touchdown passes from Luke Lindsay to Justin Sampson and Jalen Ross. A STVM turnover in their own territory led to an Ursuline score, but STVM answered right back and Ursuline never threatened again.
STVM will travel to Crater Stadium to face the Dover Tornadoes in Week 11. The Irish finished 6th in their region, while Dover finished 3rd after a huge week 10 overtime win against their rival New Philadelphia. This will be the first time these two teams have met since 2012, where STVM defeated Dover at Massillon's Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in the Division III State Semi-Finals. Kickoff at Crater Stadium will be at 7:00 on Saturday, November 5.

STVM to Travel to Historic Paul Brown Tiger Stadium to Face A Tough Massillon Team in Week 9
This Friday will serve as the Fighting Irish's biggest test in the second half of the regular season. The Irish are coming off a big home win vs. Cleveland Heights, which marked their third straight win after falling to 2-3 in the first half of the season. Massillon has had a similar path, struggling early in the season, but putting together five straight wins. The Irish and Tigers have played the past four seasons with STVM holding a 3-1 record and being only one of two teams in Massillon history to win three straight at PBTS. This game will be huge for momentum going into week ten and beyond and it will also provide a large amount of playoff computer points to the victor. Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

Irish Hold Off Winton Woods in OT Thriller; Will Host Cleveland Hts. in Week 8
Winton Woods traveled to Akron to play STVM for the first time in program history. The Warriors came in at 2-4, but weren't your typical 2-4 team. Winton Woods plays a very tough schedule and has battled inuries all season. This did not deter their motivation to win on Friday, though. Even though the Irish carried a 14-0 lead into the second half, a blocked punt and an interception that lead to a Warriors touchdown created for an exciting comeback by WW. A late field goal moved them in the lead, but a clutch field goal with less than 30 seconds to go in regulation by Senior Jamie Martucci sent the game into overtime. The Irish forced a fumble in OT and then scored a touchdown to put the game away.
STVM will host a Cleveland Heights team on Friday that has won five straight. Last week, they knocked off Bedford, who had previously been undefeated. Last year, the Irish handled the Tigers 42-0. This will be the second time these schools have met.

STVM Hands Big Red First Loss of Season; Will Host Winton Woods in Week 7
The Fighting Irish went into Big Red terrirory on a mission on Friday night. The defense was nearly flawless all night, only allowing a little over 100 yards of Steubenville offense. The STVM offense held their own as well, amassing over 400 yards and controlling the ball most of the game. STVM handed Steubenville their first loss of the season and broke their 17 game regular season winning streak. This was also Big Red's first home loss since 2014 and the first time the Fighting Irish have defeated Steubenville.
STVM moves on to Week 7, where they host Winton Woods. The Warriors are coming in at 2-4, but play a very tough schedule. This will be the first time in school history that these two teams have played. Kickoff is at 7:00 at Green Street Stadium.
